Fitness Orientations for Adults/Seniors
MAFC Weight Rooms offer free fitness orientations to all members 12 and
older. This one 1-on-1 initial training stresses the basics about weight
training while also emphasizing familiarity with our 7,500 square foot
fitness room. Please allow an hour so we can properly structure the best
program based on your personal goals. Trained Fitness Staff employees
will show you how to properly use our selection of variable resistance
equipment while pointing out which machines work which muscle groups.
Orientations are offered throughout the
week and weekends. Check with the Fitness Room Front Desk for available
times starting as early as 6am and as late as 8pm. Group size is limited
to 2 participants per session. MAFC Club members can sign up with a
Fit Staff employee in the Fitness Room.
The Monroe Aquatics and Fitness Center
will provide qualified staff in this room during all operational times
to ensure safety, customer service and equipment maintenance. This room
is not available for use to children below the age of 12. Learn more
about our Gator Jam program for structured fitness classes for children
between the ages of 8-13.
Teen Fitness
If
your child is interested in using the fitness facilities, he or she
must be 16 years of age to be unsupervised while doing so. If you have
a child that is between the ages of 12-15 and is interested in using
the cardio and circuit facilities, he or she is welcome to do so with
their parent, after completing the FREE Teen Orientation class.
After completing this ‘teen orientation”,
children between the ages of 12-15 will receive a limited access pass
to the fitness room. For ages 12-13, at least one parent or guardian
will need to be included with the child during the teen orientation.
Members aged 14-15, are required to attend the same orientation, however;
parent attendance is optional. If the child’s age is between 12
&13, a parent must directly supervise the child while in the fitness
room.
Today’s experts agree strength training and cardiovascular
conditioning are essential to the health and well being of America’s
young people. There is always the risk of injury, and SUPERVISION is
crucial to a successful youth fitness program. It is imperative that
at least one parent take the certification class with their child. Therefore,
we suggest that all guardians who plan to use the fitness facilities,
schedule this class with their child at the same time they join the
facility. For more information and registration, see or call the Fitness
Room Front Desk staff (704) 282-4692.

Smoothie Bar - |
| As members seek healthier alternatives, MAFC's Smoothie Bar helps to accommodate. Our Smoothie Bar offers a fresh blend of juices, fruits and protein powders to make a healthy, refreshing drink. While working out at breakfast or lunch, these drinks will provide the nourishment you need to make it to the next meal. Kids love them too. Without the protein, these drinks serve children and youths a healthy alternative and do not endanger their kidneys with excess protein that adults can easily digest. Ask to have your favorite Smoothie prepared without the protein and see the kid smiles appear. |
